Creative Crochet Edgings for Knitters

Certain styles of garments look elegant with crochet rather than handknit edgings. In this class, you will learn how to customize your handknits and give them a contemporary look with beautiful crochet edgings worked directly onto the knit fabric. Start by learning how to work a single crochet foundation row on horizontal and vertical knitted edges. Then, learn several attractive edgings including picots and backwards single crochet. Practice working buttonholes on edgings and bands. (Class participants must be able to work single crochet.)

Instructor(s): Margaret Fisher
Tuition: $75
Materials: Bring to class four stockinette stitch samples worked in a light color, worsted weight yarn. Each sample must be 4" X 4". In addition to the swatches bring several light colors of smooth, worsted weight yarn, size F crochet hook, and basic knitting accessories.
